 “심플할수록 아름답습니다. 그리고 섬세하고 풍성할수록 사진은 더욱 흥미로워지죠.”

 25살의 프랑스 청년은 사진에 대한 자신의 주관을 이렇게 밝혔다. 어린시절 꽃들로 부케를 만들며 지냈던 시간들 때문 이였을까 지금 그는 플로리스트로 활동하며 자신의 영역을 구축해나가고 있다. 꽃들에 둘러싸여 지내는 시간이 많은 니콜라스는 꽃들이 가진 아름다움 그리고 숭고함을 누구보다 더 잘 알고 있을 것이다.

 그의 작업 방식은 플로리스트라는 직함에 맞게 꽃을 주제로 사용한다. 꽃을 조합하고, 그들의 숭고함을 담아내며 거울을 이용해 색감과 모양을 더욱 풍성하게 만들어 낸다. 거울은 실제하는 대상을 반사하지만 그와 동시에 환영처럼 보이게 만든다. 니콜라스는 거울이 가진 이러한 속성을 이용해 환영과 실재의 공존을 사진에 담아낸다. 거울을 표현 방식 중 하나로 쓰게 된 이유에 대해 그가 말하길, 거울이 그에게 영감을 주기 때문이라고.

 “저는 가상에서 현실로 가고 싶습니다. 그리고 만들어진 환영 또한 현실일 수 있다는 것을 보여주고 싶습니다.”

 니콜라스 파본느와 꽃은 긴밀하게 연결되어 있다. 자신의 작업 과정에 대해 그는 꽃과의 소통을 이야기 한다. 설치부터 마지막 컷까지 그는 꽃들과 감정적으로 연결되며 서로의 색을 주고받는다는 것이다. 자연과 꽃이 작업의 중심이라 말하는 이 젊은 작가는 거울을 통해 꽃들의 움직임, 공간 그리고 색의 확장이 이루어지는 순간을 포착한다.

“Simplicity would look better. It's detail and volume makes a picture more interesting."

 25 years old french artist tells his point of view about the picture. He expands his area as professional florist in Paris, affected by his childhood in which he used to arrange flowers and make a bouquet.

 Throughout his youth he has spent his time around flowers therefore he can comprehend the beauty and sublimity of flowers better than anyone. In accordance with his job as a florist his main them is flowers. he creates a composition of flowers and catches it's sublimity by taking a picture. With the use of mirrors, he enhances the flower's colour and shape to create an impressive view. Despite the fact that mirror reflect reality, Pavone uses mirrors to make reality look like an illusion in his pictures. Therefore he catches the moment when reality and illusion coexist. He chose mirrors as his method because he is inspired by them.

 "I want to go from virtuality to reality and show people that the created illusion can be real."

According to his biography, Pavone and flowers are closely connected. He talks about communication with flowers as creating process. From installation to final cut, Nicolas connects with flowers emotionally and exchanges their colours.
